Methodology
Every row is a verbatim sentence read from the named source's own page through our fetch service on the date shown, hash-pinned to the stored read (the sha of the page's visible text; the raw page is mirrored to R2).
12 of the 52 named sources that could be read published a usable figure; 40 published none and are recorded as not published, never filled in; 3 could not be read (blocked, dead or unreachable) and count nowhere.
The headline figures (median, minimum, maximum, quartiles) are over ONE figure per source for each breakdown it prices, in GBP (a source's median where its page yielded several accepted sentences for one breakdown), so a page that gives figures for several breakdowns gives one for each and N counts 15 figures, never sentences; 525 candidate sentence(s) were refused by a reviewer with the reason recorded.
The fuller derivation this dataset is chartered to grow into (not yet what the figures above are; they are each source's own published figure as read): The median, minimum and maximum published price per measure per unit - per m2 where a supplier prices by area, per property archetype where it prices by house - computed ACROSS every GB supplier that publishes one, which nobody does: each publisher states its own range and none states the market's.
Beside it the two figures that only exist across sources: the SHARE of suppliers that publish a price at all against those that quote only (Encon and CCF price on account, marketplaces publish an aggregate of quotes they will not attribute), and the SPREAD for one identical SKU - the same Celotex board or Superglass roll priced by six merchants on the same day.
Then the split the buyer actually needs and no cost guide gives: material against labour, since the merchant pages carry the first and the installer pages the second.
Re-read monthly, so 'changed since' is a figure too.
