Every row is a verbatim sentence read from the named source's own page through our fetch service on the date shown, hash-pinned to the stored read (the sha of the page's visible text; the raw page is mirrored to R2).
12 of the 55 named sources that could be read published a usable figure; 43 published none and are recorded as not published, never filled in; 0 could not be read (blocked, dead or unreachable) and count nowhere.
The headline figures (median, minimum, maximum, quartiles) are over ONE figure per source in GBP (a source's median where its page yielded several accepted sentences), so N counts sources, never sentences; 290 candidate sentence(s) were refused by a reviewer with the reason recorded.
The fuller derivation this dataset is chartered to grow into (not yet what the figures above are; they are each source's own published figure as read): one row per company per published rate: the figure, what it buys (erect and dismantle, or hire only), the property type and number of elevations it is quoted on, the included hire period, the extension rate, whether it is inc or ex VAT, the per-m2 or per-metre rate where one is given, and the company's region.
Derived across them, which nobody publishes because each scaffolder publishes only itself: the median and range for each property type x elevation count, the share of companies that publish any figure rather than quote-only, the real length of the 'standard' included hire period, the extension-week rate as a share of the erect price, the regional spread (the London premium as a measured number rather than the 15-25% every guide repeats), and repriced-since on each monthly read.
